As the child of a left-brained mother and a right-brained father, Kerem Ariş is influenced by both of his parents. He inherits the artisanal know-how and creativity from his father, while having the analytical and detail-oriented skills from his mother.

Following his graduation from Bogazici University, Economics department, he had nine years of business experience. Following his self-education on design and apprenticing on handcrafts, Kerem started Uniqka.

As a designer and maker, he focuses on combining the traditional leathercraft methods with modern technology and industrial techniques.
